The Mitsubishi Electric Zoned Comfort Solution™, or "Mini-Splits," pumps cooled or heated refrigerant directly to a wall or ceiling-mounted air-handling unit, each with its own wireless temperature control system. In a single-room setup, the indoor unit quietly cools or heats the air and circulates it in the living space, while refrigerant and electrical lines connect it to an outdoor unit through a 3" exterior wall opening. Your air ducts go throughout your home and affect every part of it, yet they are hidden and unable to be easily cleaned. This is where Small Solutions comes to help! Small Solutions offers air duct cleanings using a HEPA-AIRE vacuum that helps to ensure all dust and debris is removed from your air ducts.
The Small Solutions air duct cleaning process starts by zoning the supply and return networks, enabling them to be cleaned separately. This step involves removing the furnace filter, placing it inside a plastic bag, and reinserting it into the furnace, a vital procedure for each cleaning. An access hole is then created in the supply plenum, where the flex duct from the HEPA-AIRE Vacuum is attached using a quick-connect collar. The powerful vacuum generates a strong airflow through the supply ducts, effectively pulling loosened dirt and contaminants into the vacuum’s filtration system. Each branch is addressed individually, beginning with the one furthest from the vacuum, using the AIRE-SWEEP Compressor to blast compressed air and push debris into the branch. The Forward AIRE-SWEEP Assembly is then inserted into each branch to push dirt toward the main duct, while the Reverse Assembly is used if there is access at the main supply duct.
Agitation tools like the AIRE-SWEEP Power Brush, Duct Whip, or Power Rod System are utilized to remove stubborn debris from the duct surfaces. To clean the main duct run, one-inch access holes are cut every 25 feet, and the Agitation Devices along with the AIRE-SWEEP Assembly are employed to dislodge debris, which is then captured by the HEPA-AIRE Portable Power Vacuum. After thoroughly cleaning the supply side, the return ducts are cleaned using the same process. The coil, motor, blower, and blower compartment are also cleaned as part of the procedure. Once the duct cleaning is completed, all access holes are sealed, and cover plates are installed to ensure everything is securely closed.
